Last updated: April 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to PDF Editor. These Terms of Service (“Terms” or “Agreement”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and PDF Editor (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the website located at pdfeditor.app (the “Website”) and all associated tools, features, content, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue your use of the Service.
These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, browsers, and users who access or use the Service. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
PDF Editor provides free online tools for editing, converting, compressing, merging, splitting, annotating, watermarking, and managing PDF and image files. The Service is designed to be a comprehensive, browser-based solution for document and image manipulation, offering a wide range of tools accessible through a modern, intuitive web interface.
A fundamental characteristic of our Service is that all file processing is performed entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript technologies. This means that your files are never uploaded to our servers or transmitted over the internet. All processing, manipulation, and conversion of documents occurs locally on your device.
The Service is provided to you free of charge and is supported by advertising revenue. We reserve the right to modify, enhance, add, or remove any features, tools, or functionality from the Service at any time without prior notice. The availability and performance of the Service may vary depending on your browser, device, and internet connection.
3. User Responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service and the content of any files you process comply with all relevant legal requirements.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process, create, or distribute any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Use the Service to process content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or any data contained therein
- Gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service through hacking, password mining, or any other means
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code or underlying algorithms of the Service
- Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Service in a manner that could damage, impair, overload, or interfere with the Service
- Use the Service for any purpose that is fraudulent, deceptive, or malicious, including the creation of forged or falsified documents
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the source of any content processed through the Service
You acknowledge that you bear full responsibility for any output or results generated through the Service. We recommend reviewing all processed files carefully before using them for any critical, legal, or official purposes.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Intellectual Property: The Service, including but not limited to its website design, user interface, layout, graphics, logos, icons, text, code, software, tools, documentation, and all other content (collectively, “Content”) is the exclusive property of PDF Editor and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by PDF Editor.
Your Files: You retain full ownership of all files and content you upload to or process through the Service. We do not claim any ownership interest, license, or rights to your files or their contents. Since all processing occurs client-side in your browser, your files are never transferred to us.
Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or otherwise exploit any portion of the Service’s Content without our prior written consent. You may not use any meta tags or any hidden text using our name or trademarks without our prior written permission. Any unauthorized use of our intellectual property is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
5. File Processing & Data Handling
All PDF and image processing performed by the Service occurs entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript technologies, including libraries such as pdf-lib and the Canvas API. Your files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any external server operated by PDF Editor or any third party.
Because file processing is performed locally on your device, the speed, quality, and results of processing may vary depending on your device’s hardware capabilities, available memory, browser version, and the complexity of the files being processed. Complex PDF files, files with embedded media, encrypted documents, or unusually formatted files may not process correctly or may take longer to process.
We do not access, view, monitor, log, or retain any file content, file metadata, or processing results. Once you close the browser tab or navigate away from a tool, any temporary data held in your browser’s memory for processing purposes is automatically released.
You acknowledge that certain file processing operations, particularly those involving complex layouts, embedded fonts, or advanced PDF features, may produce results that differ from the original file. We strongly recommend reviewing all processed files for accuracy before using them for any critical, legal, official, or commercial purposes.
6. Advertising
The Service is provided to you free of charge and is supported in part by advertising revenue. We display advertisements on our Website through Google AdSense, Google’s advertising platform, and possibly through other third-party advertising networks.
Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and other tracking technologies to serve advertisements on our Website based on your browsing history, inferred interests, and other data points. These advertisements may be targeted based on your visits to our Website and other websites across the internet.
Important: The advertisements displayed on our Website are provided by third-party advertisers and are not endorsed, verified, or guaranteed by PDF Editor. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements and are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or quality of any products, services, or claims made in such advertisements.
If you wish to opt out of personalized advertising, you may do so through Google Ads Settings. For more information about our advertising practices, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
7. User-Generated Content
The Service may allow you to provide feedback, reviews, comments, or other content (“User Content”) through contact forms or other communication channels. By submitting User Content to us, you grant PDF Editor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content in connection with the operation and improvement of the Service.
You represent and warrant that you own or control all rights in and to any User Content you submit and that such User Content does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or the rights of any third party. You further represent that your User Content is accurate, not defamatory, and does not infringe upon any intellectual property rights.
We reserve the right to remove, edit, or refuse to display any User Content at our sole discretion, without notice to you, if we determine that such content violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We are not obligated to monitor User Content but may do so at our discretion.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED TO YOU “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PDF EDITOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant that the results obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate, complete, reliable, or suitable for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that any defects or errors in the Service will be corrected.
You understand and agree that your use of the Service is at your sole risk. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from PDF Editor or through the Service shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PDF EDITOR, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, SUCCESSORS, OR ASSIGNS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
This limitation of liability applies regardless of the legal theory under which such damages are sought, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not PDF EDITOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you exceed the amount of one hundred US dollars ($100.00).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDF Editor, its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or proprietary rights; or (e) any content you submit, transmit, or process through the Service.
This indemnification obligation will survive the termination or expiration of these Terms and your use of the Service. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and in such case, you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claim.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, services, applications, or resources (“Third-Party Services”) that are not owned or controlled by PDF Editor. These Third-Party Services include, but are not limited to, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and other advertising or analytics platforms.
Your access to and use of Third-Party Services is governed solely by the terms and policies of those third parties. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, practices, or availability of any Third-Party Services. We strongly recommend that you review the terms of service and privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
PDF Editor shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from or in connection with your use of any Third-Party Services. The inclusion of any link or integration does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation by PDF Editor.
12. Availability & Modifications
We strive to maintain the continuous availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee that access to the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. The Service may be unavailable due to scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, server outages, network issues, force majeure events, or other causes beyond our reasonable control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, discontinue, or permanently terminate the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to business decisions, technical requirements, or changes in applicable laws or regulations.
We may also impose limits on certain features, restrict access to parts of the Service, or introduce new features, tools, or functionality at any time. Any such modifications, additions, or removals shall be effective immediately upon posting or notification. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
13. Termination
These Terms shall remain in full force and effect while you use the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time by simply closing your browser and discontinuing your use of the Website. No explicit notice of termination is required from you.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to: (a) a breach of these Terms; (b) conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users of the Service, PDF Editor, or third parties; (c) illegal or unauthorized use of the Service; or (d) discontinuation or material modification of the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles or the conflict of law principles of any other jurisdiction.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States. You hereby irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum or lack of jurisdiction.
For the avoidance of doubt, if the laws of your jurisdiction provide greater protections or different requirements than those described in these Terms, those local laws shall prevail to the extent applicable. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to contact us first at legal@pdfeditor.app if you have any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. We will attempt to resolve any such dispute informally within 30 days of receiving your notice.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through informal negotiation, either party may pursue any available legal remedies. You agree that any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
You agree that any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Service must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or it shall be forever barred.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, shall be severed from these Terms. The invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms.
The remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect and shall be construed as if the invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision had never been contained herein. The failure of PDF Editor to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to revise, amend, or replace these Terms at any time and at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page to reflect the date of the most recent revision.
If we make material changes to these Terms, we may provide additional notice through a prominent announcement on our Website, via email (if you have provided us with your email address), or through other appropriate means. The specific method of notice will be determined at our discretion.
Your continued use of the Service after the posting of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service immediately. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for any changes.
